A balanced article that leaves out some important details
I thought this was a great read: https://harpers.org/archive/2025/12/kicking-robots-james-vincent-humanoids/
And while it does touch on China and the benefits of having manufacturers across the street that you can get parts from, it doesn't touch on the scaling advantages.
China's EV companies are in an amazing position to rapidly scale humanoids, unlike any other companies. They've already got the mass production capabilities in place and have supply chains worked out.
No North American companies currently in the humanoid game aside from Tesla could say the same. But even with Tesla, as the author notes, it's heavily reliant on Chinese suppliers.
I think this will be one time where, once the tech is really sorted out, that China will grow leaps and bounds ahead of all others.
