Design Philosophy: Safety-First Humanoid
The A2 Ultra embodies AgiBot's "Organic Force" design philosophy, blending sleek futuristic aesthetics with functional industrial ruggedness. Standing at human height (169 cm), the robot is specifically designed to navigate environments built for people—fitting through doorways, using elevators, and operating in spaces without special infrastructure modifications.
Safety is paramount in the A2 Ultra's design. With PL d (Performance Level d) safety certification, the robot meets strict industrial standards for human interaction. Its compliant actuators, multiple redundant safety systems, and advanced collision detection ensure it can work safely alongside untrained public users in settings like hotel lobbies, shopping malls, and office reception areas.
PowerFlow Actuation System
The kinetic capability of the A2 Ultra is driven by AgiBot's proprietary PowerFlow integrated joint modules. These high-torque actuators deliver up to 512 Nm of peak torque across the system, with knee joints rated at 270 Nm. This massive torque output enables dynamic balancing, allowing the robot to recover from stumbles and carry payloads up to 15 kg across its full body.
Each PowerFlow module integrates a frameless motor, precision planetary reducer, dual coaxial absolute encoders, and vector control driver into a single 1.6 kg package. A standout feature is liquid cooling circulation—unlike air-cooled motors which throttle under continuous use, the liquid-cooled joints maintain optimal temperatures for thousands of hours of operation. This was a key enabler for the A2's Guinness World Record 106 km autonomous walk.
OmniHand Dexterous Manipulation
The A2 Ultra's hands feature 12 active degrees of freedom and 5 passive DOF per hand, creating a kinematic chain capable of both power grasps (carrying boxes) and precision pinches (threading needles). The 6-DOF classification refers to the 6 motors controlling each hand's complex articulation.
Fingertips are embedded with visual-based tactile sensors providing high-resolution feedback on contact pressure and texture. This allows the AI to adjust grip force in real-time, enabling the robot to handle fragile items like eggs or perform intricate tasks requiring sub-millimeter precision. The hands can grasp objects weighing 3-5 kg per arm, sufficient for most service tasks and light industrial assembly.
WorkGPT Multimodal AI
All intelligence runs on WorkGPT, AgiBot's proprietary multimodal AI system combining vision and language models. Powered by NVIDIA Jetson Orin delivering 275 TOPS of AI compute, the A2 Ultra processes multiple sensor streams in real-time:
- Natural language understanding with 96% accuracy even in noisy environments
- 360° environmental perception via LiDAR and six HD cameras
- Facial recognition for identifying and greeting known individuals
- Object recognition and scene understanding for navigation and manipulation
- Multilingual conversation supporting multiple languages with contextual responses
The robot continuously learns and adapts through AgiBot's imitation and reinforcement learning pipeline, with OTA updates enabling new capabilities to be deployed remotely.
Commercial Deployment Scale
The A2 Ultra represents mass-production humanoid robotics, not a research prototype. AgiBot produced its 5,000th unit in December 2025, demonstrating manufacturing maturity that challenges established Western competitors. Each unit undergoes a rigorous 92-item inspection process on an automotive-grade production line.
The robot is the world's first humanoid certified in China, US, and EU simultaneously, holding CE, FCC/UL, and CR certifications. This tri-region approval enables global deployment and signals AgiBot's commitment to meeting international safety and quality standards.
